In this series of miniatures, I wanted to explore a smaller format of painting as an experiment as I usually work much larger.
I wanted to see if smaller works would still feel and look like my larger paintings and I believe these 6 miniature works do look and feel like my work.
The series also explores the colors of vibrant pink and green, which are 'almost opposite' colors and the vibe of tropical shapes and colors.
I love painting windows and doors, something about them intrigues me, the idea of what is inside the window, just out of site, or slightly hidden allows me to reflect on stories untold or places unknown. What do you think is beyond the closed shutters of this tropical window?
These works are part of a group show in the gallery at Oak Park Art League.
